Bourbon’s Biography

BourbonBeefcake, or “Bourbon” for short, is the founder of World of Amelia. He did Software and Data Engineering as a hobby for many years and now does this for a living. Bourbon has always had a passion for games and storytelling and from a young age wondered “how can I create my own games?”; this led him to pursue programming as a profession. His passion for creating virtual experiences for other people led him to be a GameMaster for tabletop RPG games like DnD and VtM for many years before he started wanting to do something that was more interactive and engaging. After watching numerous YouTube videos of game servers and noticing the reoccurring problems players were experiencing, he made the decision to rent a machine from a host and on the 18th July 2022, “Amelia” was created. 

What does Bourbon Do? 

For months, he did everything on his own. Administrating, coding, advertisement, managing, customer support, troubleshooting, discord management and everything else a successful community requires to grow. Recently, the World of Amelia has grown drastically and passionate players offered to help him with some of these tasks. Now his main focus is to coordinate all departments and drive the community towards the vision that started all of this: “Provide the best and friendliest player experience” That doesn’t mean he is disconnected from all other tasks, he still keeps an eye on customer support, performance improvements, advertising and launching new initiatives for the project. 

Who is he in real life?

Bourbon’s real name is Antony. He is Greek born and bred but has done a fair bit of relocating to Europe, now settling in the United States with his wife and daughter. Having the knack for business since he was a kid, he always has his eyes open for problems to solve, following the path to entrepreneurship with a few ventures under his belt. Amelia is his keystone project and what receives most of his attention.
